Synthetic and AI-Generated Content Policy
Version: 1.0 | Effective: 23 July 2026
1. Scope
This Policy applies where My Classifieds enables the upload/publication of audio, visual or audio-visual content. “Synthetic content” means content materially created, generated, modified or altered using a computer so that it appears real/authentic and depicts a person or event in a way likely to be perceived as real.
Routine good-faith cropping, formatting, compression, translation, colour/quality correction or accessibility improvement that does not materially misrepresent the subject is not treated as synthetic content for this Policy.
2. Mandatory declaration
Before publication, the posting form must ask:
Does this advertisement contain any image, audio or video that was materially generated or altered using AI or another synthetic-media tool so that it appears real? Not applicable in current lightweight launch because media upload is disabled. When media is enabled, the user must choose Yes or No.
The user must answer truthfully. The Company may use technical measures to assess the answer.
3. Prohibited synthetic content
No user may create, upload or publish synthetic content that:
• is obscene, sexual, exploitative, paedophilic or non-consensual intimate content;
• falsely depicts/impersonates a person, voice, statement, conduct or event in a deceptive manner;
• creates a false document, electronic record, identity, licence, invoice, certificate, property/vehicle record or payment proof;
• relates to unlawful explosive, arms or ammunition preparation/procurement;
• depicts a product, vehicle, property, condition, defect, location, employer or service deceptively;
• infringes privacy, intellectual property or other rights;
• facilitates fraud, harassment, defamation, child harm or any offence; or
• otherwise violates law or the Listing Rules.
4. Permissible synthetic content
Permissible synthetic content must:
• be declared;
• carry a clear and prominent “AI-generated/AI-altered” label on the content/ad;
• retain available permanent metadata or technical provenance, to the extent technically feasible; and
• not be used as the primary “actual item/property” image where it could mislead.
The label must remain visible and easily noticeable. Users must not crop, suppress, modify or remove the label, metadata or identifier.
5. Platform controls
Where media uploads are enabled, My Classifieds may:
• scan files and metadata;
• hold content for human review;
• apply labels/watermarks and retain provenance;
• require the original unaltered file or proof;
• reject deceptive synthetic content;
• preserve and report unlawful material as required; and
• restrict users who make false declarations.
6. Significant-intermediary trigger
If the platform crosses the notified significant social media intermediary threshold, it must implement the additional pre-publication declaration-verification and labelling controls required at that time. The Company will monitor user count and law.
7. Complaint
Report synthetic impersonation, private/sexual imagery or deceptive AI content through the urgent category in the Grievance Policy.
