1. My Classifieds is an advertising platform

My Classifieds hosts user-supplied advertisements and sells listing visibility. It does not own, inspect, possess or deliver listed goods/property and does not employ candidates or guarantee service providers. Unless expressly stated for a separate product, it is not a broker, escrow provider, payment intermediary or party to user transactions.

2. Verify independently

Before paying, signing or handing over property/goods:

• meet safely and inspect the actual item/property;

• verify the other person’s identity and authority;

• compare original documents without sending unnecessary copies;

• check title, encumbrances, registration, approvals, licence, condition and pending dues through competent sources;

• use a written agreement/receipt for material transactions;

• verify bank-account name and payment request independently;

• obtain legal, technical, financial or tax advice where appropriate; and

• do not rely only on an OTP badge, ad label, screenshot, chat or photocopy.

3. Never share

Never share an OTP, UPI PIN, ATM/card PIN, CVV, password, screen-sharing access, remote-control app access or full banking/identity data. My Classifieds will not ask for these to release a buyer’s payment, courier amount, refund or prize.

4. Common fraud warnings

Stop and verify if someone:

• offers to pay without inspection and sends a QR code for you to “receive” money;

• asks for an advance, token, courier, insurance, activation or refundable security urgently;

• claims to be military/police/government and uses an ID image to create trust;

• sends a fake payment screenshot or asks for a small “test payment”;

• moves quickly to an unknown link, APK, screen-sharing or remote-access app;

• promises guaranteed job, loan, investment return, tenant or buyer for a fee;

• refuses video/physical verification or original-document comparison; or

• uses false urgency, threats or an unusually low/high price.

5. Category checks

Property

Obtain title and search documents, sanctioned plans, tax/utility records, society/authority permissions, encumbrance/litigation checks and RERA details where applicable. A MahaRERA number/QR code must be independently checked on the official portal.

Vehicles

Inspect original RC, chassis/engine consistency, ownership, finance/hypothecation, insurance, PUC, challans, theft status and service/accident history. Complete lawful transfer; do not rely on possession alone.

Jobs

Verify the employer through independent channels. Be suspicious of recruitment/security/training/equipment payments, guaranteed selection and requests for bank/Aadhaar data before a genuine process.

Electronics

Inspect power-on/function, serial/IMEI status without publishing the complete number, activation lock, invoice/warranty and signs of theft/counterfeit/refurbishment.

Services

Verify licence, address, references, written scope, price, exclusions, timeline and insurance where relevant. Avoid large advances without milestones.

6. Safe meeting and payment

Meet in a well-lit public place or appropriate office, inform a trusted person, avoid carrying excessive cash and do not meet alone where risk exists. Use a traceable payment method after verification and ensure a signed receipt/agreement. Do not use a payment method simply because the other user insists.

7. Reporting

Use “Report Ad/User” promptly. Preserve the URL, ad ID, number, message, payment reference and screenshot. For financial cyber fraud, immediately contact the bank/payment provider and the competent cybercrime/police channel. My Classifieds is not an emergency service.

8. No guarantee

Moderation reduces but does not eliminate fraud. A Paid, Premium, Featured, Sponsored, OTP-verified or later-introduced badge is not a guarantee or endorsement. Users remain responsible for their decisions, subject to the Company’s non-waivable legal duties.
